Second win in a row. Lady Rams take on Taft

Victor Valley Defeats Taft in Close Game

In a highly anticipated matchup, Victor Valley came out on top with a final score of 82-70 against Taft. The game took place on November 29, 2023, at 5:00 PM.

The first quarter saw a competitive start, with Taft taking a slight lead of 25-21. However, Victor Valley quickly caught up in the second quarter, outscoring Taft 22-17. Heading into halftime, Victor Valley held a narrow lead of 43-42.

The third quarter proved to be a turning point in the game, as Victor Valley dominated by outscoring Taft 24-5. Their strong offensive performance, led by Ebony Black-Smith who scored 25 points, gave them a significant advantage. Taft struggled to find their rhythm and could not keep up with Victor Valley's scoring.

Despite a late surge from Taft in the fourth quarter, Victor Valley maintained their lead and secured the victory with a final score of 82-70.

Victor Valley's strong shooting was a key factor in their win, as they shot 59.7% from the field. Karoline Ellison also had an impressive performance, contributing 18 points for the team.

Taft, on the other hand, struggled to find their shooting touch and did not make a single field goal throughout the game. Their inability to convert on offense ultimately cost them the game.

Both teams played a clean game, with no technical fouls called on either side. The officials maintained control of the game, allowing the players to showcase their skills.

Overall, Victor Valley's dominant third-quarter performance and efficient shooting were the deciding factors in their victory over Taft. They displayed excellent teamwork and execution, while Taft will need to regroup and work on their shooting efficiency for future games.
