Athletic Training Room

Location: Gym (Lower Campus: Building 71 - Room 108)

Hours may vary depending on season/sports game schedules.

SERVICES OFFERED:

Injured athletes in their season of sport: Injury assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injuries only. Sign in when entering the Athletic Training Room and wait to be seen by one of the Certified Athletic Trainers.

Out of season athletes: Injury assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injuries only, secondary to in-season athletes. Check with athletic training staff for best possible time to be seen in the Athletic Training Room.

The Athletic Training Room is a co-ed medical facility. Treat it as such. Do not wear cleats or track spikes and come appropriately dressed (shirts, shorts, no bathing suits, no revealing clothing, etc.)

No tobacco products of any kind.

Pre-Participation Examination (Physical)

Every athlete competing at Victor Valley College must complete an annual physical screening before they will be allowed to practice during season or compete with the team at any time. The physical must be performed by a our team physician, Dr. Thomas Liu.  All physicals are scheduled by the athletic training staff.

VVC Pysical Packets are available in the Athletic training Office. Each form must be clearly filled out and signed by the student athlete or guardian (if a minor). Please read the instruction page completely, prior to filling out the packet.

Insurance & Medical Information

Victor Valley College provides secondary insurance covering injuries sustained while participating in VVC sponsored activites. All athletic injuries must be reported to the athletic trainers immediately. Any further questions regarding coverage should be directed to the athletic training staff. 

Visiting Teams

We would like to take this opportunity to welcome your team to Victor Valley College. We hope that your visit is enjoyable and injury-free.

If a certifed athletic trainer is traveling with your team, you will have access to all modalities in the athletic training room for use on your athletes during regular hours, prior to the game. If you will not be traveling with the team, please contact us by phone or email to arrange for pre-game treatment needs for your athletes.

Emergency Action Plans, map of campus, and hospital locations are available to you upon request. Please contact us for any specific needs and to provide information on facility location and parking.

A typical Football game day setup will include;

  • 1-10 gallon coolers of ice water in locker room with disposable cups.
  • Injury ice chest with bags and wrap on sideline and/or in locker room.
  • For further setup questions, please contact us. 

All other events will be set up according to the sport needs.

The athletic training staff will be available 1 hour prior to events and for 20 minutes after the end of a contest or as an emergency situation dictates.
