Women's Basketball Falls in Second Round

The Victor Valley College Women's basketball team's successful 2023-24 season came to an end in a hard-fought second-round playoff game against Long Beach City College. Despite a valiant effort, the Lady Rams fell short with a final score of 68-59.

The game started off with Long Beach taking an early lead in the first quarter, outscoring Victor Valley 20-13. However, the Rams fought back in the second quarter, matching Long Beach's 16 points to trail by 7 at halftime.

In the second half, both teams continued to battle it out, with Long Beach maintaining their lead and ultimately securing the victory. 

For Victor Valley, Ebony Black-Smith led the way with 15 points and 11 rebounds, followed by Aaliyah Wright with 11 points. Despite their efforts, the Rams were unable to overcome Long Beach's strong offense and defense.

The loss marks the end of a successful season for the Victor Valley College Women's basketball team, finishing with a record of 20-8 overall and 7-1 in conference play. The team showed great determination and skill throughout the season, earning a spot in the playoffs and making a strong push in the postseason.

As the season comes to a close, the Rams can hold their heads high knowing they gave it their all and represented their school with pride. With a solid foundation in place, the future looks bright for the Victor Valley College Women's basketball team, and fans can look forward to more exciting games in the seasons to come.
