Lady Ram Basketball Remains Undefeated in Conference

The Victor Valley College Lady Ram basktball team remains undeated in Inland Empire Athletic Conference play after beating Palo Verde and San Bernardino Valley in back to back games. On Wednesday January 10th the Lady Rams traveled out to Indio to take on Palo Verde College. the 17th in the State ranked Lady Rams jumped out to a 23 to 16 lead to start the first quarter and never trailed, as they finished with a 69 to 54 win.

Ebony Black Smith stood out, scoring 21 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. Karoline Ellison and Moriah Burley each had solid games with Burley socring 11 points and dishing out 3 assists, and Ellison adding 10 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists.

On January 13th the Lady Rams took on San Bernrdino Valley at home in the VVC Gym. The LAdy Rams dominated with a final score of 92-51. There was no doubt from tip off to the final buzzard, as the Lady Rams outscored San Bernardino Valley in all four quarters.

The first quarter saw Victor Valley take a substantial lead, scoring 26 points compared to San Bernardino Valley's 12. Victor Valley's Aaliyah Wright and Ebony Black-Smith were the standout players in this quarter, contributing 9 and 22 points respectively. San Bernardino Valley struggled to keep up with their opponents, failing to make a single field goal.

The second quarter showed a slight improvement from San Bernardino Valley, as they scored 17 points, but Victor Valley continued to dominate with 18 points. Karoline Ellison was a key player for Victor Valley in this quarter, scoring many of her 15 points in this quarter. San Bernardino Valley's shooting woes continued, with no improvement in their field goal percentage.

The third quarter was another strong showing from Victor Valley, as they scored 25 points compared to San Bernardino Valley's 12. Taneah Johnson and Karoline Ellison were the top scorers for Victor Valley in this quarter, contributing a combined 21 points. San Bernardino Valley struggled to find their rhythm and were unable to catch up to their opponents.

The final quarter saw Victor Valley maintain their lead, scoring 23 points while holding San Bernardino Valley to just 10 points. The game ended with a 41-point victory for Victor Valley. Ebony Black-Smith and Karoline Ellison continued to shine for Victor Valley, finishing the game with 22 and 15 points respectively.

Overall, Victor Valley's dominant performance in all four quarters led to their decisive victory over San Bernardino Valley. The Lady Rams will continue their season on Wendesday January 17th as they travel to Rancho Cucumonga to take on Chaffey College.
