Lady Rams Lose a Close One to MSJC

The Lady Rams Basketball team lose a hard fought close game by a final score of 63-61. The game was characterized by intense play, with both teams displaying their skills and determination until the final buzzer. This was a highly anticipated matchup as these two teams are expected to battle for the IEAC conference chamionship this season

The first half of the game was closely contested, with both teams fighting for every point. VVC managed to take a one-point lead at the end of the first quarter with a score of 13-12. However, MSJC came back strong in the second quarter, outscoring their opponents 18-10. This gave them a six-point lead heading into halftime with a score of 30-23.

The second half of the game saw VVC fight back hard to regain control. They managed to close the gap in the third quarter, scoring 16 points compared to MSJC's 14 points. The score stood at 44-39 in favor of MSJC heading into the final quarter.


The fourth quarter was a battle between both teams, with VVC mounting a comeback effort. They outscored MSJC 22-19 in the quarter, narrowing the gap even further. However, MSJC managed to hold on to their lead, ultimately winning the game 63-61.

For the Lady Rams, Taneah Johnson was the leading scorer, contributing 21 points and nine rebounds. Ebony Black-Smith also had a notable performance with 15 points and 20 rebounds.

On the MSJC-W side, Jana Roman led the team with 14 points and 13 rebounds, showcasing her skills as a dominant presence on the court. Breyonna Bell added 19 points, including three three-pointers, while Valeria Brewer contributed with nine points and four assists

The Lady Rams look to bounce back on December 29th against Mt San Antonio in a non-conference matchup at home at 5:00pm
