From the outset, the Rams set the tone with an aggressive offensive strategy. In the first inning, M. Cuellar, who had an exceptional game, crossed home plate thanks to a sacrifice fly by H. Merrill, putting Victor Valley on the scoreboard early. Cuellar, who went 2-for-3, was a constant threat on the bases, scoring twice and stealing a base to keep the pressure on Glendale's defense.
The Rams extended their lead in the second inning. B. Miller scored on a clutch single by A. Zaldivar, followed by M. Ortiz doubling to bring home C. Bledsoe. This offensive burst gave Victor Valley a solid 3-0 lead, showcasing their ability to capitalize on scoring opportunities.
Glendale managed to score a run in the third inning, but the Rams' defense, anchored by pitcher M. Ortiz, quickly regained control. Ortiz delivered a stellar performance on the mound, pitching a complete game and allowing just one run on five hits while striking out five Glendale batters. Her command and composure were instrumental in maintaining Victor Valley's lead throughout the game.
The Rams continued to dominate in the fifth inning when H. Merrill doubled, driving in M. Cuellar for her second RBI of the game. Shortly after, H. Stanislaw singled to bring Merrill home, cementing the Rams' lead at 5-1. Merrill's offensive contributions were pivotal, as she went 1-for-3 with two RBIs, demonstrating her clutch hitting ability.
