Victorville, CA — February 15, 2025 — The Victor Valley College Rams softball team got their first win of the season with a commanding 9-4 victory over Grace University in the first of doubleheader games. The Rams dominated from the start, showcasing an impressive mix of offensive power, strategic baserunning, and solid pitching to secure their first win of the season at their home field in Victorville.
**Offensive Standouts**
The Rams' offensive lineup was led by an exceptional performance from R. Godwin, who was a pivotal player in the victory. Godwin crossed the plate four times, significantly contributing to the team's score. She reached base consistently with three hits in four at-bats and demonstrated her speed on the basepaths with two stolen bases.
H. Stanislaw also played a crucial role in the Rams' offensive success. Stanislaw went 2-for-4 with two RBIs, including a dazzling triple in the third inning that drove in H. Merrill, extending the Rams' lead. Her ability to find gaps in the defense was evident, as she also added a double to her stat line, further solidifying her impact on the game.
B. Miller supported the offensive burst with a 3-for-4 performance, driving in two runs. Miller's consistent contact hitting was instrumental in keeping the pressure on Grace University's defense throughout the game.
In another highlight, A. Gonzalez and A. Arauz each contributed with an RBI, with Gonzalez delivering a crucial triple in the sixth inning that brought Stanislaw home, effectively sealing the game for the Rams.
