Lady Rams Win Second Straight

The Victor Valley College Softball team picked up its second straight win to start the season as the Lady Rams 9-8 in a walk off base hit by Anna Gomez to brinf in 2 runs in the bottom of the 7th inning.

The game started off with Victor Valley taking an early lead in the first inning, with Corra Utash scoring on an error by the Ventura third baseman. However, Ventura quickly responded in the second inning, walking and driving in a run to tie the game at 1-1.

The Lady Rams regained the lead in the second inning when Rebekah Godwin hit a sacrifice fly, bringing in Krystal Garza to make it 2-1. But Ventura fought back in the third inning, taking a 3-2 lead on an error and driving in a run.

The score remained close throughout the game, with both teams trading blows. In the fourth inning, Anna Gomez hit a double to bring in Corra Utash, tying the game at 3-3. Ventura then took a 6-4 lead in the fifth inning, driving in 2 more runs.

However, Victor Valley staged a comeback in the sixth inning, with Corra Utash hit a 2-run homer, making it 7-6 Ventura. 


Ventura added one more run in the top of the 7th, but the Lady Rams were not done yet. 

First, Utash doubled, bringing in Aubrey Veloso to cut the lead to 8-7 Ventura. In the next at bat, Anna Gomez hit a double bringing in Utash and Emelyn Gonzalez.

This exciting finish for the Lady Rams has them at 2-0 on the season as they travel to Porterville College on Tuesday, Feburary 6th for a double header matchup.
