Soccer drops finale, looks to bright future

VICTORVILLE - Victor Valley dropped its final game of the season on Friday, but coach Sammy Lara was still excited about the future of his team.

"We may not have won a national or state championship or even our conference," he said. "But, we made a difference. We had a positive impact."

The Rams dropped the game against San Bernardino Valley, 4-1. Lara liked the way his team played and competed.

"We won hearts," he said. "We definitely improved professionalism, morale and the quality of play this season."

Lara knows there is a long ways to go to reach the team goals, but this season was an important first step.

"Building a program takes time and our time will come." he said. "I can't wait to see what the future holds for VVC Men's soccer."

There were no sophomores on the roster this season so potentially the entire team can return for next year.

VVC finished the season 3-6-4 on the season.
