Rams Golf Excited About New Group
**Victor Valley College 2025 Golf Season Preview: A Fresh Start with Promising Talent**
As the 2025 golf season approaches, anticipation is building at Victor Valley College (VVC). Under the guidance of Head Coach Derrick Williams, the Rams are poised for a transformative year, blending experienced returners with a dynamic new lineup of recruits. With high aspirations and a competitive spirit, the team is ready to make its mark in the league and beyond.
One of the key returners for VVC this season is Keegan Johnson, who is set to build upon his freshman year accomplishments. A product of ACE High School, Johnson's development and improving skills are expected to be a vital component in the team's pursuit of success. His experience and familiarity with the collegiate golf circuit will undoubtedly serve as an asset for the Rams.
However, the team's real excitement stems from an impressive roster of new recruits. Cory Rose, a transfer from Cal Baptist and an Apple Valley High School alumnus, stands out as a significant addition. Rose's reputation precedes him, with expectations that he will not only excel in the league but also challenge for honors at the state level. Supporting him are other promising talents including Tyler Thomas from Bear Valley High School, Sherman Cline from Apple Valley High School, Ty Topete from Hesperia High School, Dallas Yardley from Beaver High School (UT), and Tomas Quinones, who brings experience from Cajon High School. Each of these players has the potential to emerge as All-League selections, contributing to a formidable team dynamic.
Coach Williams expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming season, highlighting the dedication and hard work the team has put in during the off-season. "The sky is the limit for them," he remarked, underscoring his confidence in their ability to compete fiercely. With a schedule that features some of the most remarkable courses, the season promises to be both challenging and exhilarating.
The goals for the Rams this year are clear: to improve consistently each week, to enjoy the process, and to stand toe-to-toe with the top teams in their league. These objectives reflect a balanced approach, emphasizing growth, enjoyment, and competitive spirit.
Proud of the progress made, Coach Williams, along with Assistant Coach Jordan Thomas, has worked tirelessly to elevate VVC as a prime destination for aspiring golfers. The duo's efforts underscore their commitment to both the players and the broader college golf program. "This team consists of some of the best players in the High Desert," Williams shared, highlighting the pride they take in representing both the college and the community.
As the season unfolds, the Victor Valley College Rams are set to deliver an exciting blend of talent, determination, and sportsmanship. With a team that embodies both promise and passion, they are not only set to compete but to captivate as well. Golf enthusiasts and supporters alike are in for a thrilling ride as they watch this team evolve and strive for excellence.
The Rams start their season this Saturday, January 25th, as they go to compete this the La Purisima Tournament in Lompoc, CA.
