Victor Valley Defeats Palo Verde in High-Scoring Battle

The VVC Men's Basketball team wins its second in as many game, defeating Palo Verde 85-76 on Saturday February 10th, 2024.

Victor Valley's Jordan Malveaux stood out as the leading scorer, contributing 22 points to his team's victory. Malveaux displayed exceptional accuracy from beyond the arc, sinking 6 three-pointers out of 12 attempts. Additionally, he showcased his defensive prowess with 2 steals.

Other key players for Victor Valley included Mardochee Sambou and Jel Aguek, who contributed 20 and 15 points respectively. Sambou's dominant rebounding skills were also on display, as he secured an impressive 14 rebounds, including 10 on the defensive end.

Palo Verde played tough throughout the game but the Rams pulled away in the second half, outscoring the Pirates 44 to 39. 

Victor Valley showcased a solid shooting performance, with a field goal percentage of 42.0%. They connected on 7 three-pointers out of 22 attempts, resulting in a 31.8% success rate from beyond the arc. Their free throw shooting was particularly impressive, with an 80.0% conversion rate. All five starters for the Rams were in double figures scoring. 

Victor Valley also dominated the rebounding battle, securing a total of 42 rebounds. Sambou's exceptional performance on the boards played a significant role in their success. Additionally, Victor Valley recorded 19 assists, indicating their effective ball movement and teamwork.

Victor Valley's victory over Palo Verde was a result of their strong shooting, dominant rebounding, and effective teamwork. Jordan Malveaux's exceptional performance, along with contributions from Sambou and Aguek, were key factors in their success.
