Bio

Darian Lindsey starts with the Victor Valley College Rams as Special Teams Coordinator and Secondary Coach as of Spring 2023.

Darian attended Walnut High School (Walnut, California) where he started his football career. As a player coach Lindsey was awarded 1st team ALL-League (San Antonio League) as a Defensive Back in his senior season and was a 3-year letterman in the graduating class of 2010.

Coach Lindsey stayed local to Walnut, CA and attended community college at Mount San Antonio College (Mt. SAC). While at Mt. SAC, Coach Lindsey made a California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) National Championship (2011) appearance in his redshirt year. Lindsey was a two-time starter as Defensive Back in 2012 and 2013 he also made appearances in Southern California Semifinals in 2012 and Golden State Bowl in 2013. He was also awarded 1st ALL-Conference as a Defensive Back 2013. After receiving his Associate of Arts in Kinesiology, Darian received 7 scholarship offers before choosing Texas A&M UniversityCommerce to continue his education and football career.

At Texas A&M University-Commerce under the coaching staff of Colby Carthel, Darian played an integral part in the Success of Back-to-Back Lone Star Conference Championships in 2014 and 2015. During his time, Darian also made an appearance in Division 2 NCAA Playoffs. Lindsey was named 1st team ALL-Conference, First Team All-American (USA College Football), and 3rd Team ALL-Region. Coach Lindsey ended his collegiate career in 2016 earning his Bachelor of Science in Sports and Recreation Management. Coach Lindsey later signed a professional football contract with the Polish Football league (PFL) for the Warsaw Eagles where he was named Defensive player of the week 5 times and Defensive player of league in 2017.

Lindsey began his coaching career at his high school Alma Mater, Walnut High School, where he worked with defensive backs and wide receivers. Coach Lindsey spent two seasons at Walnut high school and soon after he accepted a position at Bonita High school in La Verne, California, where he worked with defensive backs and assisted the Bearcats to Semi-finals in the CIF Playoffs. Coach Lindsey wrapped up his coaching experience at the high school football level and in 2019 he was presented the opportunity to coach as a Graduate Assistant for Texas A&M University Kingsville (TAMUK) in Kingsville, Texas. As a GA Darian coached the secondary group and had an Honorable Mention All-Conference Defensive Back, Josh Wilson. In his second year coaching with the Javelinas, Coach Lindsey was moved to coach the Outside Linebackers under Defensive Coordinator Haskel Buff. In the Fall of 2020 unfortunately the Texas A&M University- Kingsville football program did not compete due to the coronavirus pandemic.

In 2021 coach Lindsey earned his Master in Education with an emphasis on Adult Education from Texas A&M University- Kingsville. After finishing up the spring season Coach Lindsey was offered a position with a division 1 program, Abilene Christian University, where he was brought in as the Outside Linebacker and Quality Control coach.

Coach Lindsey has since relocated back to California where he resides with his girlfriend Mandolyn and their Dog named Friend.
