Rams Pick Up Win Against Moorpark
**Rams Triumph Over Moorpark College with a 5-1 Victory**
On a sunny Wednesday afternoon, the Victor Valley Rams secured a commanding 5-1 victory against Moorpark College at The Park. This win marked an impressive performance for the Rams, who are now 9-20 for the season, while Moorpark fell to 4-20.
The Rams set the tone early, with second baseman E. Logsdon making a significant impact right from the start. In the first inning, designated hitter O. Rosas crossed home plate thanks to a well-placed double by I. Jimenez, giving Victor Valley a quick 1-0 lead.
Logsdon continued to demonstrate his prowess at the plate, going 2-for-5 and scoring twice. His performance was instrumental in Victor Valley's success, as he also managed to steal a base, keeping the Moorpark defense on their toes.
In the third inning, the Rams extended their lead when C. Wood reached first on an error by Moorpark's third baseman, which allowed J. Barriento to score an unearned run. Wood further contributed with a double in the fifth that brought Logsdon home once again, reinforcing the Rams' lead to 4-0.
O. Rosas, who was equally impressive, went 2-for-3 and played a crucial role in the Rams' offensive lineup. His sacrifice fly in the third inning not only demonstrated his adaptability but also drove Logsdon in for another run.
Another standout moment came from J. Conti, who showcased his speed with a stolen base, adding pressure to Moorpark's defense. Conti later advanced to second in the eighth inning, setting the stage for M. Herring to ground out to shortstop, bringing Rosas home for the Rams' final run.
Pitcher A. Rizzo was a stalwart on the mound, delivering a complete game with a stellar performance. Rizzo allowed only six hits and one earned run over nine innings, securing the win with eight strikeouts and only two walks. His command of the game was evident, facing 36 batters and throwing 109 pitches, 75 of which were strikes.
Moorpark managed to score a consolation run in the seventh inning, but it was too little, too late for the home team. The Rams' defense, despite a couple of errors, held strong to clinch the victory.
The Rams' capitilized on their opportunities and executed a well-rounded game plan. As the Rams looks to build on this momentum, their performance at Moorpark College will undoubtedly serve as a confidence booster for the rest of the season.
