Bio
Artie Allen
Dean of Kinesiology, Health, Athletics & Dance / Director of Athletics
Victor Valley College
Artie Allen has served the High Desert athletic and educational community since 2014 and currently holds the dual role of Dean of Kinesiology, Health, Athletics, and Dance and Director of Athletics at Victor Valley College. Since assuming leadership of VVC Athletics in 2022, Artie has led a student‑centered transformation of the department—strengthening academic outcomes, expanding access and equity, and elevating competitive success across programs.
Under Artie’s leadership, VVC Athletics has experienced sustained growth in student‑athlete participation and an increasing number of conference championship performances each year, reflecting both competitive excellence and program stability. At the same time, the department has advanced a clear academic mission focused on persistence, progress, and completion.
A cornerstone of this work has been the launch of student‑athlete–focused academic initiatives, including Student‑Athlete Cohort Courses in Math and English designed to support first‑year success and build academic community. Artie also led the development of the R.A.M.S. Reset Program, a targeted academic intervention model that combines structured support, accountability, and campus collaboration to assist student‑athletes at risk and re‑engage them toward degree and transfer pathways.
Artie’s leadership extends to comprehensive program development and facilities enhancement. During his tenure, VVC has completed major athletic facility upgrades—including a new stadium, renovated baseball and softball complexes, a stadium fieldhouse and locker room facilities, and updated scoreboards—ensuring student‑athletes train and compete in first‑class environments aligned with collegiate expectations.
Before transitioning fully into administration, Artie accumulated more than 15 years of coaching experience at the high school, community college, and university levels. As Head Football Coach at Victor Valley College, he rebuilt the program under challenging timelines, dramatically increased roster depth, emphasized local recruitment, and strengthened academic performance. Previously, as Associate Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator at Chaffey College, he helped guide the program to a historic undefeated season and extended winning streak. His coaching career also includes leading Oak Hills High School to its first CIF Championship, as well as collegiate coaching stops at Arizona Western College and New Mexico Highlands University, where he mentored numerous student‑athletes who advanced to four‑year institutions.
In addition to athletics administration and coaching, Artie spent eight years as a Kinesiology faculty member, teaching across multiple modalities, developing curriculum, and integrating instructional practice with student support and engagement. He holds a Master’s degree in Sports and Exercise Science (Sports Administration emphasis) and a Bachelor’s degree in Sports and Exercise Science.
Artie is deeply committed to creating environments where student‑athletes are supported academically, challenged competitively, and prepared for long‑term success beyond college. He and his wife, Amber, are proud parents of Alijah and Arielle.
