Women's Basketball With Big Win Against Glendale

The Victor Valley College Women's Basketball Team celebrated a big win at Glendale College on November 18th, 2023, bringing their season record to an impressive 5-1. The final score of the game was 67-60 in favor of Victor Valley, with the team showcasing their skills and determination throughout the four quarters.

In the first quarter, Victor Valley took an early lead with a score of 18-10. The team's offense was firing on all cylinders, with Aaliyah Wright, Taneah Johnson, Ebony Black-Smith, Karoline Ellison, and Moriah Burley all contributing to the scoring effort. Glendale College fought back in the second quarter, narrowing the gap with a score of 14-8. However, Victor Valley maintained their composure and entered halftime with a 26-24 lead.

The third quarter saw Victor Valley extend their lead, outscoring Glendale 19-12. The team's defense was particularly impressive during this period, limiting Glendale's scoring opportunities and forcing turnovers. Ebony Black-Smith, who had a standout performance, continued to dominate the court and contributed significantly to Victor Valley's lead.

Entering the fourth and final quarter, Victor Valley held a comfortable 45-36 lead. However, Glendale College was not ready to give up without a fight and mounted a comeback. They outscored Victor Valley 24-22 in a thrilling final quarter, but Victor Valley's earlier lead proved insurmountable. The game ended with a final score of 67-60 in favor of Victor Valley.

Several players stood out for Victor Valley during this game. Ebony Black-Smith had an outstanding performance, scoring 17 points and contributing to the team's rebounding effort with six rebounds. Aaliyah Wright also had a strong showing, scoring 13 points and showcasing her versatility on the court. Karoline Ellison and Moriah Burley also made significant contributions, scoring 11 and 10 points, respectively.

This win comes after an 84-48 win against Oxnard College. The only loss on the season was a close 1-point loss to Ventura College. With a record of 5-1 on the season, the Victor Valley College Women's Basketball Team is proving to be a force to be reckoned with in their division. Their performance against Glendale College demonstrated their ability to work together as a team and overcome challenges.
