Mission:
The mission of the Student Athlete Support Program is to support the College mission and to assist Victor Valley College Student Athletes in their goals to compete and study at VVC. VVC athletics is committed to providing education through athletics- helping our student athletes grow, learn, and enjoy themselves while they use and develop their personal, physical, and intellectual skills. We focus on providing student athletes with counseling and other support services so they have the skills necessary to succeed in the classroom and in the real world.
Vision:
The Student Athlete Support Program strives to create an exceptional learning environment that shares the educational mission of the college by offering student athletes opportunities to experience excellence, diversity, collaboration, innovation, and accessiblity. This vision defines expectations both on and off the field.
Athletic Counseling Team:
Jacqueline Stahlke, Ph.D.
Hello, students athletes. My name is Jackie and I am honored to be part of your journey. I grew up in Phelan, CA and I am a Serrano Diamondback alumni where we won the high desert’s first girl’s soccer CIF championship. Playing club soccer, where I was part of a nationally ranked team, I was offered several full-ride Division 1 scholarships to play soccer. Ultimately, I chose to play soccer at UC Irvine in the competitive Big West Conference where I received my Bachelor’s in sociology with a minor in African American studies. During my playing days, I received world-class training from top-notch coaches and Olympians, including April Heinrichs. These experiences led me to want to become an athletics counselor and help student athletes achieve their dreams of playing their sport while recognizing their potential off the field to find success in their future careers. Having parents that did not graduate from high school, trying to navigate what college to attend and how to be successful was difficult. My goal is to help you ease the transition into college and successfully leave VVC to enter the workforce and/or attend a 4-year. When working with you, I take on the mindset that we are on the same team, we cannot be successful without each other. That being said, I look forward to helping you achieve your goals and watching you grow on the field and in the classroom.
GO RAMS!
